Here’s who this helps
Chip works with agency owners who are committed to change and want to learn. Our best clients have an entrepreneurial spirit, strong communications chops, and a willingness to invest time and effort in their agency’s continued growth and development.
If you are looking for business and management advice to help you run your agency more effectively and profitably, this may be a good solution. On the other hand, if you want more traditional executive coaching, that’s not what Chip does, but he would be happy to make recommendations of some who specialize in working with communications leaders.
It is recommended that agency owners complete an Agency Business Checkup before beginning an ongoing relationship. The Checkup ensures that we are a good fit for each other, builds a foundation of shared knowledge, and identifies initial priorities. While not absolutely required, it will help to jumpstart the advice and coaching process to enable you to see better results more quickly.
Here’s what it does
Having someone to talk to about your business — someone who has been in your seat and understands the frustration and satisfaction of being an agency owner — can help improve your results.
Our conversations are open and honest. Chip asks tough questions and shares his candid perspective. Sometimes it may be uncomfortable, but it is all designed to help you with the issues you face as an owner, including things like:
- Growth planning
- Market positioning
- Staffing issues
- Strategic partnerships
- Client challenges
- M&A strategies
- Investment decisions
- Cost containment
- Exit planning
- Thought leadership
Here’s how it works
Chip shares his advice with agency owners via regularly scheduled calls and remote work sessions. Generally, we will start with weekly sessions for the first few months while we work together on a combination of high priorities and low hanging fruit to improve your agency business. After that, many clients find a biweekly meeting schedule to work well.
Each meeting explores timely challenges and opportunities. We review your accomplishments, examine obstacles, question assumptions, and offer an independent perspective. When possible, we conduct the sessions by video call to improve engagement.
As an added benefit, Chip will perform a quarterly financial review. When you close your books for the quarter, you will share your P&L, balance sheet, accounts receivable/payable, and he will review and provide feedback or ask questions via email and/or on the next regularly scheduled call.
All clients have access to unlimited email questions during the course of the engagement, access to exclusive client-only opportunities, and the option to leverage additional services like on-site meeting, remote work sessions, and more.
